Nostalgia for Analog, and Cloudy Skies.

There is a special quality of tone in recordings on vinyl and tape that digital recordings with all their clarity can't reproduce. Google Music riffs on this vibe with a commercial celebrating records and tapes and the machines we played them. And it feels good until it progresses into a digital age.

Indexing music in the cloud is a far cry from the warmth and style of physical grooves and magnetic canvas, real things ignored as obsolete by their virtual counterparts. None the less, it is a very cool entry into the cloud music foray. Still the future is bright.

The free service allows you to house a collection of up to 20,000 songs that you upload or buy and play them on any device you can log into. It's awesome, but not quite like holding your copy of a gatefold album you bought in a funky record store and listening intently to deep cuts. Alas, the revolution continues.

Phones, Tablets, and mobility are all the rage.

More and more people are accessing the web from these devices. It is important to be aware of what technologies are trending and what window your audience is viewing your content through.

Will all future devices and software recognize you?

Android is releasing Ice Cream Sandwich, uniting all of Android phones and tablets under one operating system. Teaming with new features and a gorgeous new interface, the below video demos the new Nexus a la Tron style! The most interesting new feature is Face Unlock which allows you to unlock your phone just by looking at it.

What does this mean for the web? How long will it be before people login to facebook just by looking at their computer? I wonder if it can be fooled with a photo.

Will websites be voice activated in the near future?

Apple Computers continues to please it's followers with the new 4s and the fifth iteration of it's operating system. The latest update features Siri voice recognition. Siri was purchased in an aquisition last April and uses dialogue with context voice interaction that can respond and do tasks like a personal AI "assistant"!

Siri has personality and gets to know your idiosyncracies. She will do your bidding, but be nice to her because she may become self aware someday, if she's not already, and she probably knows Hal.

Post PC era? Not by a long shot. Check out the new PC era, Windows 8.

Widows 8 is in prebeta but even in this early stage is very impressive. It boots in about 8 seconds, faster than any other os by far. It features a dual interface with the new Metro look as the default and is switchable to the Windows 7 look with a single click or tap. This placement of desktop and tablet interfaces in tandem is Microsofts answer to the blending of touch into the computing 90% of the people use for work.

The tiled Metro design is perhaps the most stylish and functional of all the new touch interfaces. The widget approach beats icons for serving up info and the simple color blocks make navigation as intuitive as it gets.

Web Design is quickly evolving with more mobile devices with touch interfaces, voice commands and visual regognition. Plan your web presense for the future.
